The first half of your newsletter was so validating. I'd begun to think I was living in some sort of futility bubble while everyone else was one-shotting full, perfectly architected SaaS offerings. Couldn't understand why my results were so miserable even when trying to apply good advice (except for the advice that boiled down to "use this cool tool/ability/markdown file that bloats your context and burns tokens faster"). Glad it's not just me. Hope the industry can settle down and create good tools that don't lead to cognitive exhaustion and ravaged ecosystems.
In crypto for about 10 years and I agree about the symptoms: we are starting to slow down, for real. What I do not know, though, is if this specific tech will follow the same cycle with crypto. There are some fundamental differences between the 2 techs and their behavior may not be 1 on 1 overlapping. I guess we'll see in the next 6-9 months.
Totally, it may not have been a fair analogy, but I am starting to see in the space more of cautious optimism that wasn't around a few months ago, where AI was going to fix everything. Crypto has gone through those similar exuberance v.s. pessimistic cycles (with the caveat that AI is already being found useful for individuals and corporations, something that crypto hadn't achieved until quite recently).
Just listened to Tony Fadell at Lenny's podcast, and I think it is a great complement tot his post (and those AI winter/end of the cycle-vibes that I described): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJjl1TwyfWM
